On 10 Oct 1941 he was promoted Corporal, and on 24 Oct 1941 he was promoted Sergeant. Harold was admitted to the [[110th Australian Base Hospital]] on 27 Dec 1941 for treatment, and was released to duty on 2 Jan 1942, but was granted sick leave until 5 Jan 1942 before rejoining the 13th Independent Provost Company at Melville.

On 10 Oct 1941 he was promoted Corporal, and on 24 Oct 1941 he was promoted Sergeant. Harold was admitted to the 110th Australian Base Hospital on 27 Dec 1941 for treatment, and was released to duty on 2 Jan 1942, but was granted sick leave until 5 Jan 1942 before rejoining the 13th Independent Provost Platoon at Melville before it moved to Chidlows.
