Brief History
Formed in Bathurst, New South Wales during August 1942 by the 2nd Australian Infantry Training Brigade to train troops on mortars, anti tank weapons and intelligence tasks. In May 1940 they absorbed their fellow units from the 1st and 4th Infantry Training Brigades. In 1944 a Pioneeer wing was formed and the unit remained in Bathurst until the end of the war. In the later period they were preparing reinforcements for the proposed Occupation Force in Japan.
