Brief History

This unit was formed at Fremantle in February 1943. A detachment replaced the 6th Radio Maintneance Section on Rottnest Island in March and the unit operated the coastal defence radar installations that were developed on Rottnest and Garden Islands as well as at Fremantle. In April they moved to Rottnest from where they worked until September 1944 when they were absorbed into the Fortress Workshops, Fremantle.
