War Service
Mervyn was enlisted into the RAAF at the No. 4 Recruiting Centre on 18 Aug 1944 and undertook basic training with the No. 4 Recruit Depot at Pearce until 27 Sep 1944 when he transferred to the No. 4 Stores Depot RAAF. He was sent to No. 5 Personnel Depot for posting to a unit. Identified for further training, on 14 Feb 1945 Mervyn was posted to the No. 1 Engineering School RAAF.
