Brief History

1st Maintenance Platoon was raised at the Royal Australian Engineers training centre at Kapooka, New South Wales in June 1943 before moving to Rocklea in Queensland during August where it was attached to the 3rd Workshop & Park Company. In September the unit moved to Townsville where they maintained electrical and refrigeration plant and carried out repairs to buildings until the end of the war.
