Remarks
Built for the British-India Steam Navigation Company, and requisitioned for use as a Hospital Ship during WW1.
On 4 Jan 1918 while returning to Cardiff from Malta with 279 wounded officers, she was hit by a torpedo 31 km off the north west coast of Devon.
Taking several hours to sink, the wounded were rescued and only the 4 engine room staff killed by the initial explosion perished.
