Pre War

During 1939 Ron attended the Gleneagle State School, where his father was based as an Overseer of the Forests Department.

War Service

Ron enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps at Jarrahdale on 5 Jul 1942, and was allocated to the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion./ On 31 Jul 1944 Ron, along with the rest of his unit was placed in the Reserve.

Post War

During 1948 Ronald married Eunice Patricia Green in Perth.

If Ron's date of birth shown on Ancestry records is correct (11 Sep 1926) then he was only 15 years, 9 months old when he joined the VDC Battalion.
