War Service
On 25 May 1943 Alan enlisted in the 2nd AIF, 2 months before his 21sy birthday. He was allocated to General Reinforcements and on 5 June trnsferred tothe 36th Australian Infantry Training Battalion. On 13 Jun 1943 he was admitted to the 60th Australoian Camp Hospital and was returned to his training unit on 2 Jul 1943. The next day he was transferred to the 13th Australian Infantry Training Battalion, and then on 4 September to the 4th Australian Trade Training Depot where he undertook a Driver/Mechanic course before returning to the traioning battalion. On 2 Dec 193
qualified at a 6 week general Provost course graduated 18 Nov 1944- 9th Australian Division Provost Company
