Transferred to the Royal Navy on 22 Mar 1943 and she was part of:

  • Invasion of Sicily;
  • Invasion of Reggio;
  • Salerno landings;
  • Anzio-Nettuno advanced landings;
  • Invasion of Normandy; and
  • Invasion of Malaya

Prior to being handed back to the US Navy on 1 Jun 1947 she carried Australian BCOF troops from Morotai to Kure in Japan.
