General Information
5th Casualty Clearing Station was mobilised at Mt Martha in December 1941. In May 1942 the unit was split to form the 7th Casualty Clearing Station which remained in Victoria while the 5th Casualty Clearing Station moved to Port Moresby in June and established themselves at the 17 mile camp to handle early casualties from the Kokoda campaign as well as servicing base troops. In April 1943 they were renamed 105th Casualty Clearing Station and in June they were relived and moved back to Kingaroy in Queensland.
