Brief History

In September 1942 a Women's Wing of the 110th Australian Base Hospital was created at Claremont with 50 beds. In February 1943 this was expanded to form the 1st Australian Women's Hospital. However, in October 1943 they were reabsorbed as a wing of the 110th Australian Base Hospital.
