General Information

Originally formed as a dressing station at Chermside, it was manned by which ever medical unit was in camp. In August 1941, 3 Camp Hospital, Northern Command was formed as a permanent unit to take pressure from the unit them manning the dressing station. In September they were renamed Camp Hospital Chermside until June 1942 when all camp hospitals were re-organised, with Camp Hospital Chermside becoming 2nd Australian Camp Hospital. As such they continued to operate in Chermside until the end of the war.
