Brief History
2nd Cavalry Division Supply Column was mobilised at Geelong Racecourse in December 1941 to serve the units defending Melbourne from the west. In February 1942 they moved to the Dandenong area and were renamed 2nd Austalian Motor Division Supply Column in March. AASC units were reorganised in April 1942 and in June this unit was renamed 3rd Australian Motor Brigade Company AASC.
In September they moved to Seymour, and in October it was re-organised to have three transport platoons, a composite platoon, three Relief Driver Increments (RDIs) and a workshop element.
