Brief History

Also known as Camp Hospital Watsonia, it was raised in April 1941 to establish a 120 bed hospital at Watsonia. Its name changed to 48th Australian Camp Hospital after a re-organisation of camp hospitals during June 1942. It serviced the training camps and transit units in the nearby area until disbanded in October 1944
