In February 1943 the Pay Corps detachment which had operated a Cash Office at Claremont for the WA Lines of Communications Genera Deails Depot and the co-located Recruit Reception Depot was identified as a separate unit and designated 65th Australian Cash office. The uni moved to Karrakatta in January 1945 to take over the work of the 44th, 45th and 46th Depot Cash Officers which had been disbanded.
