Brief History
The 6th Division was raised on 28 Sep 1939 and comprised the 16th, 17th and 18th Brigades. However, with the 18th Brigade in England, it was substituted by the 19th Brigade. The relevant Battalions were: 2/1st, 2/2nd, 2/3rd, 2/5th,2/6th, 2/7th, 2/4th, 2/8th, and 2/11th. At other times for brief periods, the 14th, 21st, 25th and 30th Brigades were under its control.
