Pre War
At time of enlistment he had 4 children under the age of 16 years.
War Service
On 29 Jul 1941 he was posted to the 3rd Training Battalion at Northam, and on 19 Aug 1941 this was changed to the 4th Training Battalion. Training completed, he was granted pre-embarkation leave from 16 - 22 Oct 1941. On 17 Nov 1941 he embarked on HMT XXXX as part of Convoy US 13. On 24 Nov 1941 he disembarked in the Middle East. The same day he was posted to the AIF (ME) Movement and Transportation Guard.
