In April 1916 a send-off in the church was held for many of the men on the Honour Board;
On Wednesday last, in the Armadale Congregational Church, a send-off was given to all the soldiers of the town, then in camp or about to go ... All the soldiers were not present, but the farewell was given to the following:—Messrs. Joe Farnell, K. Sloan, A. E. and A. H. Bingham, A. Grafham, J. Saw, B. and F. Powell, R. Beatty, Serman, H. Richards, T. Bailey,F. W. Wakeham, Chas. Fielder, L. Morgan, W. G. Martin, S. Till, E. Serls, H. Stenson, Claude March, and Vernon Whitney. The dedication date of the Honour Board is unclear, however it was noted as in place in the church by 1918;
