Pre War

War Service

Original enlistment was part time on 21 Oct 1941, and posted to the 10th Australian Light Horse Regiment ww2 in Bunbury on 31 Oct 1941. Called up for full time duty on 5 Jan 1942, on 21 Apr 1942 he was detached to the 10th Reconnaissance Battalion (2.463). On 22 May 1942 he was admitted to the 8th Australian Casualty Clearing Station (4.066) before returning to his unit on 27 May 1942. On 1 Jun 1942 he was seen by the 6th Australian Field Ambulance (4.064), passed to the 8th Australian Casualty Clearing Station (4.097), and then on 4 Jun 1942 to the 118th Australian General Hospital before being discharged on 6 Jul 1942 as unfit (Class 'D') and in order to enlist in the RAAF. Post War

During 1945 George married Olive Eames Parker.
