==Pre War==
On 7 Apr 1945 Arthur married Alma Kniest Morrell (1915 - 1976) in the Wesley Church, Perth. Alma died on 1 Oct 1976 in Dalkeith.

==War Service==
On 19 Apr 1942 Arthur enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps and was allocated to the [[13th (Moora) VDC Battalion]] where on 12 Aug 1942 he was appointed Lance Corporal. However on 4 May 1943 he was reduced to Private "by order of the Commanding Officer". Arthur was struck off strength on 6 Sep 1943.
