"At St. George's Cathedral the wedding took place yesterday afternoon of Beatrice, younger daughter of Mr and Mrs Alexander FANCOTE of Forest Glen Downs Buckingham and Kelmscott and Mr Leslie COULSON of Singapore, youngest son of Mrs COULSON of Newcastle-on-Tyne, England. Rev Lindsay officiated and Mr Horace DEAN rendered a violin solo during the signing of the register."

"Mr & Mrs Leslie COULSON (formerly Miss Beatrice FANCOTE) whose marriage took place recently, will leave shortly for their home in Singapore. They are at present the guests of Mrs A. FANCOTE at her home in Kelmscott "

It would appear that Beatrice was an evacuee from Singapore, and that she enlisted on her return to Australia.
