Pre War

War Service

Charles enlisted on 5 Jan 1942 and was sent to the 13th Training Battalion at Northam. On 13 Mar 1942 Charles was found guilty of having been AWOL from midnight 8 March to 11:00am 11 Mar 1942. His fine was 10/- ($1), and he forfeited 2 days pay (12/- or $1.20) On 16 Mar 1942 he was transferred to the Recruit Training Battalion from where he was detached to Special Guard Duties. On17 Jun 1942 Charles was charged with being AWOL from midnight 15 June until 6:00pm


Following exactly 9 months service, Charles was discharged on 5 Oct 1942.

Post War

During 1949 Charles married Clare Elizabeth Lines in the local area.

Electoral Roll entries: 1943 at Ye Olde Narrogin Inn, Armadale, timber faller; 1954 - 1977 at 17 John street, Armadale, timber worker; 1980 at 36 Jannali way, Armadale, retired.
