Born 1911 Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, Wales. Her father was John Oughterson Workman and her mother was Edith Mabel Le Worthy. Doris arrived with mother and sister Vera in Sydney, New South Wales 12 June 1912 aboard "Thermistocres". (Father John arrived on same ship on 11 January 1912 [previous voyage])
