Pre War
War Service
Enlisted 24 Jan 1943 at Claremont, and taken on by the 6th AWAS. On 22 Apr 1943 she was classified as MT Driver Trade Group 2 and on 27 Apr transferred to the Headquarters Western Reinforcement Training Centre at Northam. On 12 Jun 1943 she participated in a transport course, returning to her unit on 24 Jul 1943. Married, on 7 Aug 1943 she changed her NOK details, and then on 17 Aug 1943 she was charged with being AWOL from midnight 13 Aug 1943 until midnight 15 Aug 1943. Fined £1 and loss of 2 day's pay. On 5 Oct 1943 Dorothy was transferred to 6th AWAS, but he next day she was with 7 AWAS.
On 13 Oct 1943 she was sent to Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot where she was discharged at own request on 18 Oct 1943.

Dorothy's maiden name at the time of her enlistment was Babb, changing to Armanasco following her marriage in late 1943 to Norman Leslie Armanasco.
