On 14 Nov 1942 Dorothy was posted to the 4th Australian Base Postal Unit. On 24 Aug 1943 Dorothy was admitted to the 1st Australian Women's Hospital and released to duty on 1 Oct 1943. On 25 Oct 1943 she celebrated 12 months service with a pay increase. On 24 Feb 1945 she was married and took Leave without Pay from 10 - 23 Mar 1945.
