Pre War

War Service

Edgae enlisted at Claremont on 30 Oct 1940 and on 1 Nov 1940 he was posted to the Naval Base Training Depot where he joined the No. 3 Depot Battalion on 27 Nov 1940. On 14 Jan 1941 he was transferred to the 2nd Training Battalion at Northam. There, on 11 Feb 1941 Edgar was charged with havng been AWOl from midnight 10 Feb 1941 until 10:30pm on 11 Oct 1941, He was to forfeit a days pay and was awarded 4 days Confined t Barracks. On 12 Feb 1941 he was posted to the 6th reinforcement draft for the 2/28th Australian Infantry Battalion. However, on 17 Apr 1941 thsi was changed to the 7th reinforcement drsaft for the 2/32nd Australian Infantry Battalion From 21 A- 23 pr 1941 Edgar was treated by the Northam Camp Hospital for Impetigo to the face.


From 24 April until 30 April 1940, Eddgar enjoyed pre-embarkation leave. On 24 Jun 1931 he was admitted to the
