Pre War
Suffered with a hernia, and had had it operated on. Edward had been a member of the Jarrahdale Rifle Club for 5 years.
War Service
Enlisted and found to be fit by a preliminary medical exam at Jarrahdale on 13 Feb 1916, Edward reported to the Blackboy Hill camp on 8 Mar 1916 and was placed in the 55th Depot Company.
Discharged as permanently unfit on 27 Jul 1916
