==War Service==
Originally enlisted in the [[3rd (Swan) VDC Battalion]] on 21 Apr 1942, however on 28 Feb 1943 he was transferred to the [[2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion]]. Discharge date is not clear, but it appears that he was discharged on 12 Mar 1943 for having made a false answer to a question on his attestation (document is not included in Australian Archives).

==Post War==
During 1947 Eldred married Margaret Jane Webster.
