War Service

Originally enlisted in the 3rd (Swan) VDC Battalion on 21 Apr 1942, however on 28 Feb 1943 he was transferred to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion. Discharge date is not clear, but it appears that he was discharged on 12 Mar 1943 for having made a false answer to a question on his attestation (document is not included in Australian Archives).

Post War

During 1947 Eldred married Margaret Jane Webster.
