Florence married William Samuel Yates (1876 - 1962) on 31 May 1904 at Richmans Valley South Australia. Florence and William had a son Francis Laurence Yates (born in Yarloop)deceased 1905, and a daughter Florence. Florence had a brother (Sid McHugh), who was a State and Federal politician in South Australia.

Death

Florence died at the age of 30 years on 9 December 1908.

Other Notes

It is possible that Florence died while giving birth to her second child, a daughter Florence. Sid McHugh (Florence's brother) wrote "Florrie died...when Little Florrie was born , I can recall some of the incidents associated with that sad occasion, such as the telegram we received from her husband when she died. Will Yates wire: "Florrie died this morning - baby daughter alive. Heartbroken....Florrie's death was a great loss indeed to me. I could not believe for a time that my beautiful sister was dead. My sister was buried at a little place called Gosnells in the West".
