During 1919 George had married Iris Lena James (1887-1940) in Katanning. Their daughters were Muriel Iris Elworthy born 1921 and Gwenyth Lena Napier Elworthy (1928-2007). Iris died on 7 Oct 1940 in Kelmscott

Notes

George had seen service during WW1 as 2466 Trooper Elworthy who embarked 16 May 1916 for the Middle East where as a reinforcement for the 10th Light Horse he was posted to the 1st Anzac Battalion of the Imperial Camel Corps. He embarked for return to Australia on 15 Mar 1919.
