Pre War

George Neil Gow Armstrong was the son of George Drummond Armstrong and Louisa Armstrong (nee Vincent). He was born in Mandurah, and the greater Armstrong family owned property in Wongong. Electoral Roll entries state that George Neil resided from 1917 - 1943 at Kelmscott, as a farmer. During 1932 George married Enid Erica Maitland (1905 - 1977). Enid died on 23 Nov 1977, aged 72 in Kelmscott.

Electoral Roll entries state that from 1949 to 1977 he lived at 2995 Albany Highway, Kelmscott as a farmer; 1980 at 16 Deerness way, Armadale, retired.

Notes

George Neil Armstrong's father, George Drummond Armstrong, arrived in the Swan River Colony in 1829 with his widowed father Adam Armstrong (grandfather of George Neil) and his brother John Armstrong (uncle of George Neil). George Drummond Armstrong had married twice: once to Louisa Vincent, and once to Alice E. Spencer.
