Built for Great Western Railway to service the Rosslare to Fishguard route until 1913. She was then sold to Canadian Pacific, before it was requisitioned in 1915 to become a British Hospital Ship until 1919. Actual dates of service as a hospital ship were 7 May 1915 to 4 Dec 1917. Staffed by 4 Medical Officers, 4 Nurses and 30 others. The St George could accommodate 17 Officers, 115 patients in Cots, and 146 in berths.
