Pre War
Electoral Roll entries: 1931 "Hill View", Wharf street, Queens park, gardener; 1936 - 1943 Third avenue, Kelmscott, gardener.
Harry had served in the Royal Marines based at Plymouth prior to emigration to Australia.
War Service
Harry enlisted in the CMF (Militia) in Perth on 23 Oct 1940, and was appointed Lance Corporal the same day in the 5th Military District Line of Command Provost Company. On 22 Nov 1940 he was promoted Temporary Corporal. Harry was posted to Northam on 1 Sep 1941 before being re-posted on 3 Oct 1941 to Western Command Detention Barracks in Fremantle. On 31 Oct 1941 he was promoted Temporary Sergeant, with his rank confirmed on 20 Jan 1943, before reverting to Corporal at his own request on 31 Aug 1943. The next day he resumed with the Provost Company.
On 26 Jun 1945 Harry was medically reclassified as B2 with the result that on 17 Oct 1945 he was transferred to the Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot at Karrakatta for discharge which took effect on 19 Oct 1945.
Post War
Electoral Roll entries: 1949 - 1963 Third avenue, Kelmscott, gardener ; 1972 - 1980 at 33 Creery street, Mandurah. Harry's wife Adelaide died on 26 Dec 1956 aged 55 in Kelmscott.
