Pre War

18 year old Henry emigrated on the SS Orsova which departed London on 15 Jan 1915, travelling with his parents Robert and Elizabeth. During 1920 Henry married Winifred Constable in Perth.

Electoral Roll entries: 1943 at Armadale, farm manager.

War Service

On 12 Aug 1941 Henry enlisted with the part time 'Y' (Militia) Company of 5th Australian Garrison Battalion. On 15 Dec 1941 he was called up for full time duty and taken on strength by the 5th Garrison Battalion. On 19 Mar 1942 Henry was transferred to the 29th Australian Garrison Battalion and on 18 May 1942 he undertook a driving course after which on 13 Jun 1942 he was reclassified as a Driver.
