On 10 May 1918, however, he was transferred out to the Camp Details Depot, where for a period (9 Aug - 10 Sep 1918) he was an Acting Lance Corporal. On 11 Sep 1918 he transferred to the 3rd General Reinforcement group from WA for 1918, completed his training with them and set sail for England, only to have the ship recalled from Durban, South Africa, when the armistice was declared.

Post War
In 1935 Henry married Hettie Hazel. Hettie died 24 Dec 1962 in Bentley ages 65.
