War Service

Jack was enlisteed in the CMF on 16 Jan 1942 when he was posted to the 9th Auxiliary Horse Transport Company. He was called up for full time service on 12 Feb 1942.




On 22 Jan 1946 Jack was transferred to the Western Command Recruit Reception & General Details Depot where he was discharged on 13 Mar 1946.

Post War

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 - 1972 Third avenue, Kelmscott, labourer; 1980 Talwin court, Kelmscott, retired. On 10 Dec 1956 Jack secured a Goods Porter position at the Perth Goods Depot. On 29 Aug 1963 he was transferred to the Kewdale depot, and from 25 Oct 1970 until he resigned on 28 Mar 1973, Jack reduced his hours of work to 25 hours per week as a part time goods porter position at the Kewdale depot with the WAGR. His wife Emma died on 10 May 1957.
