Jack was granted Christmas leave from 24 - 31 Dec 1940. On 21 Mar 1941 Jack was appointed Lance Corporal, and on 1 Oct 1941 he was called up for full time duty. He was promoted Acting Corporal on 9 Oct 1941.


In May 1942 Jack participated in he No. 3 Unarmed Combat Course, run at Bassendean, rejoining the battalion on 8 Jun 1942. He enlisted in the 2nd AIF on 13 Jul 1942. He attended a course for Junior NCOs at Northam from 14 Nov - 31 Dec 1942


Original nok was his father Alfred Hansford Fuller, but on 24 Feb 1944 it was changed to his mother Amelia.

On 30 Mar 1946 Jack married Margaret Mary Duckett (1922 - 1988). Two sons & 2 daughters including Jennifer Elizabeth.
