Joseph Lionel Lockyer (30 January 1869 - 30 September 1942), was born at Northam in 1868.
Early Life
Joseph Lionel Lockyer (who always referred to himself as Lionel), was born at Northam in 1868. In the 1880s he purchased over 3,000 acres of land in Roleystone. The land was originally part of the estate of Thomas Buckingham senior. Lockyer was very involved in community activities, serving on the Kelmscott Road Board and taking on the role of Secretary and Treasurer of the Kelmscott Farmers and Fruit Growers Association.
