Brief History
In 1940 the pre war Army School of Signals moved from Georges Heights in NSW to Casula. conducting refresher and advanced training for Officers and for potential officers and NCOs. It moved to Bonegilla in Victoria in March 1942 as part of the decision to centralise all signals training. There it was renamed LHQ School of Signals in May 1942. By 1945 the school included an Officer Cadet Wing, a Refresher Wing, Regimental Signals Wing and a Replacement Instructors Wing in addition to running senior NCO and AWAS training. They continued to operate at Bonegilla until after the end of the war.
