Enlisted in 2nd AIF on 16 Mar 1942 an was allocated to the 16th battalion

Post War
During 1953 Max married Mabel Jean Graham in Perth. Mabel died on 26 Feb 1976 at 4 George Cowcill street, Kambalda aged 61.
