Brief History
No. 22 Service Flying Training School was a part of the Empire Training Scheme, based at the Gweru-Thornhill airfield in what was then Southern Rhodesia (Zimbabwe). Aircraft used were the North American T-6 Harvard, Models 1,2,2A, and 3. The unit operated from 215 Mar 1941 until 30 Sep 1945.
