Pre War

Electoral Roll entries: 1943 at William street, Armadale, tractor driver. Her was employed at the WA Salvage Company's Mill in Bedfordale.

War Service

Patrick's initial enlistment was with the AIF from 17 Dec 1941 until 19 Jun 1942. Patrick and others from the AIF Training Camp at Northam were formed into a battalion strength Dalgite Force on 23 Feb 1942 to supplement the Garrison Battalions defending the Fremantle area. They camped at Hamilton Hill and were engaged in work on the defences between Swanbourne and Garden Island. With the arrival of troops home from the Middle East, they were released back to training, and were withdrawn to Northam.


Following his stint in hospital, Patrick was released from the 2nd AIF - Manpowered to the Timber Industry on 19 Jun 1942. He almost immediately enlisted (13 Jul 1942) with the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion, Volunteer Defence Corps. On 31 Jul 1944 along with the rest of his unit he was paced in the Reserve.

Post WW2

During 1947 Patrick married Norma Hilda Stonehouse. Norma died on 15 Apr 2011 in Withers aged 92.
