Remarks

The SS Luckenbach was a Rappahannock class store ship originally, acquired for the US Navy for use in WW1. Originally launched as SS Pommern for the North German Lloyd Line and used on the Australian freight service via the Cape of Good Hope. Interned in Honolulu after the outbreak of WW1, she was taken over by the US Navy when the US entered the war, and commissioned as USS Rappahannock (AF-6) on 8 Dec 1917 and used primarily for stock transport.

Decommissioned by the US Navy on 10 Dec 1924, she remained in reserve until sold to the Luckenbach Steamship Co on 5 Oct 1933, and renamed SS William Luckenbach and operated under that name until sold to an Italian company in November 1946. She was scrapped at the end of 1952.
