Talbot was named after the town of Talbot in Victoria. His mother MaryAnn Louise Collier had come from Talbot (halfway between Ballarat and Bendigo; 160km from Melbourne) prior to her marriage to Samuel.

Pre War

Talbot took over the family property "Sunnyside"; a property fronting the Canning River with the then Roleystone Road, later River Road and now Brookton Highway as road frontage, on the death of his father in 1963. The property consisted of an extensive mixed orchard including stone and citrus fruits as well as a large wire-netted bird proof enclosure which ran from the road to the river where table grapes were grown. Milk, cream and butter were also produced.

During 1933 Talbot married Margaret Joy Ottaway (1910 - 1998) in St Mary's Kelmscott. They raised a family of nine children.

Electoral Roll entries: 1925 - 1943 at River road, Kelmscott, orchardist.

War Service

Discharged on 30 Jul 1944.

Post War

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 - 1954 at River road, Kelmscott, orchardist; 1968 - 1980 at 22 Prospect road, Armadale, bus driver.
