The graveyard at St Mary-in-the-Valley (River Road, Kelmscott) contains a number of unmarked burials. While this has always been known, ground penetrating radar was used at the site in 2019, confirming just over 100 unmarked burials in various places around the church and cemetery.


While many of these unmarked burials may remain unidentified, there are several cases where family lore states that a person was buried in the Cemetery (but for which no headstone exists, and records are still being sought).
