Brief History
5th Military District Base Postal Unit was raised in January 1942 in Perth and soon after was renamed Western Command Base Postal Unit. However, there was overlap with another Postal unit and so when there was a split at higher headquarters, this unit was absorbed into the Western Australian Line of Communication Postal Unit during April 1942.

- Sidney Alfred Born 4 Aug 1941 - 29 Aug 1942 - detached to the Western Command General Details Depot.
