War Service

Enlisted in Perth giving his address as Roleystone.

After being allocated to the Tunnellers three weeks later, he was sent to Seymour camp in Victoria for specialist training. There he was found to be medically unfit for the work and was discharged after serving for only 87 days.

Discharged in Victoria - over age. His wife's address was also in Victoria.

Post War

The Coroner's report dated 21 Jan 1934 into his death declared it to be asphyxia by drowning; wilfully caused by casting himself into the Rufes River at Wentworth. His age was listed as 72 years, 9 months and incorrectly reports him having been born in Queensland. His cash at time of death was estimated at £35, later his estate was valued at £60.[1][2]
