Pre War

Neil travelled to Australia from London with his mother aboard the SS Ormonde. The ship departed London on 13 Oct 1923 and arrived in Fremantle on 13 Nov 1923.

Electoral Roll entries: 1936 - 1943 at Karragullen, Orchardist. On 3 Apr 1940 Neil had married Isobel Muriel Hall (1917 - 2004) in Perth. Isobel died on 19 Jan 2004 in Nannup, Western Australia.

War Service

Neil enlisted in the Volunteer Defence Corps on 22 Mar 1942 at Kalamunda and was allocated to the 2nd (Fremantle) VDC Battalion On 6 Nov 1943 his Army number was changed from W67626 to W62217. On 8 Sep 1944 Henry was appointed Lance Corporal, and was placed on the Reserve on 1 May 1945. However, on 1 Jun 1945 he reverted to private at his own request, and on 28 Jul 1945 he transferred to the 12th (Jarrah) VDC Battalion where he was a member of 2 Platoon, 'A' Company. On 15 Oct 1945 all VDC personnel were discharged.

Electoral Roll entries: 1949 - 1968 at Karragullen, orchardist; 1972 - 1980 at Garland road, Roleystone, orchardist.
