John was born in Williamstown, Victoria on 5 January 1876. His father's name was Harry Collins and his mother's name was Jane Marian Theodora Lucien.
Marriage
John married May Bowler (nee Ullyott) in 1917 in Perth. They had one known daughter Joan Lucien Dowell on 27 March 1925. [described in Trove as daughter (Trove 1947 21 Nov)]
Death
John died on 6 May 1941 at the age of 65.

John is the brother of Harry Bertram Collins who is also buried at St Mary in the Valley Anglican Church.
